What are Clubs?
Clubs are youth groups with an emphasis on Māori Kaupapa and philosophies. We aspire to create an enjoyable and relaxed environment where rangatahi can feel comfortable expressing themselves in a positive way.
We hope to open new avenues for rangatahi to take on new challenges in their lives with confidence. These programmes focus on equipping and informing our youth with tools, strategies and knowledge to make better informed, healthier lifestyle choices.
THOWS encourages all participants of these “clubs” to set goals that will nurture their talents and abilities while addressing behaviours that may not be deemed as healthy.
Part of these programmes are identifying any issues that participants may have and dealing with them appropriately, either as a group or on a one on one basis with their Youth Worker or a Whānau Tautoko kaimahi.
Currently we run each club one night a week with a break over the School holidays and Christmas period.
