Youth Worker / Mentor

Are you passionate about young people and supporting them to have positive life outcomes…

We are looking to employ a Youth Worker / Mentor that has experience in working with at-risk young people and whanau.

The ideal applicant will have:

  • Relevant qualification in youth work, sport & recreational, health, mental health or social work.
  • Understanding of trauma-informed care
  • Physically fit
  • Full clean NZ drivers licence
  • Meet vetting requirements (police check etc.)
  • NZ citizen or permanent resident
  • Strong team player and positive role model
  • Demonstrate initiative and sound judgement, with the ability to ‘think on your feet’
  • Experienced in developing a rapport quickly with young people and whanau
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills and good computer literacy / typing skills
  • Be self directed in work practices
  • Experienced in working in Maori and Pacific communities
