Te Hou Ora Whānau Services have been supporting Rangatahi and the community for over 30 years.

We have a strong reputation for delivering innovative services and programmes that support young people to achieve self set goals and make better informed, healthier lifestyle choices.

Rangatahi Ora has been designed for young people aged between 9 years of age to 15 years of age who live in the wider Dunedin area and runs on Saturday around 1pm – 5pm.

This programme is aimed at developing leadership potential and cultural identity through a ten week programme. It is specifically designed to cater to a small group of young people to ensure the Youth Worker can engage the young people in a close tailored environment that will nurture their cultural identity.

This programme will aim to engage young people on a weekly basis in a variety of traditional and contemporary māori activities. These activities will promote tikanga māori practices that will support the young people to familiarise themselves with:

  1. Mihimihi
  2. Whakawhanautanga
  3. Karakia
  4. Waiata
